Secured By Design: Guardian Garage Doors from Garador

Secured by Design is a government initiative that works with designers to incorporate security into products at the point of manufacturing. The initiative has awarded companies Secured by Design membership status for developing secure design features in products as diverse as bicycles, computers and cars. Recently, there has been a particular focus on windows, doors and locks.

New-build developments that have been built to Secured by Design standards have a 75% reduction in burglary rates and a 25% reduction in rates of criminal damage. Guardian Doors from Garador have been designed with security in mind and have been accredited by the Secured by Design initiative. Security features include: 

• Galvanised Steel Frame: A door is only as strong as its frame. Galvanised steel adds strength and stability.
  
• Lock Body Protection: A reinforced plate on the lock body defends against attempts to jemmy the lock.
  
• High Security Bracing: A traditional garage door will be secured by two braces. Guardian doors are secured by eight.
  
• Improved Lock Security: Extra steel plates are fitted in the base corners of your door to protect the bottom locking system.
