Keep your garage warm and dry with thermally insulated sectional doors

thermally insulated door

Here in the East of England, we were enjoying an unseasonably warm early autumn, but (predictably) the weather has suddenly changed. As the days are getting shorter, the nights are getting colder, and those rain showers are getting more frequent! If you have a garage with an old garage door, you’ll know that it can be expensive to keep it warm and dry during the winter months. One of the best improvements that you can make is to install a thermally insulated sectional garage door.

Benefits of thermally insulated sectional garage doors

Thermally insulated sectional garage doors are made of several panels that are connected by hinges and run on tracks. They typically open vertically and slide along the ceiling, saving space and allowing you to park right in front of the door. Some of the reasons you might want to upgrade include:

  • Excellent insulation. If you can reduce heat loss and keep the temperature stable, maybe you could use your garage as an extension of your living space? Turn it into a workshop, a gym, or a hobby room.
  • Improved security. Sectional doors are made of sturdy materials with no real weak points for a potential burglar to exploit. They also come with various locking options.
  • Aesthetic appeal. All the doors we supply and install are available in a wide range of colours, finishes, and designs to suit your personal taste and complement your property. They also have a smooth and sleek appearance that adds a touch of modernity and elegance to a garage.

Thermally insulated garage doors will improve your garage space and save you money on heating bills. Watch the video on our Sectional Doors page for a full list of benefits.

By installing a thermally insulated sectional garage door, you will not only improve the comfort and functionality of your garage space, but also save money on your heating bills.

  • Reduce the amount of energy you need to heat your garage, as the insulation will prevent heat from escaping and cold air from entering. This will lower your carbon footprint and help you save on your energy costs.
  • Increase the value of your property, as a thermally insulated sectional garage door will make your garage more attractive and versatile to potential buyers. This will boost your kerb appeal and give you a competitive edge in the market.
  • Reduce noise pollution. The insulation will also act to reduce the amount of noise that can enter your garage - handy if you are near a busy road or if your teenager wants somewhere to practise drumming.

The Garador doors that we supply and install have sections made of double-skinned steel, 42 mm thick, filled with (100% CFC-free) PU-foam.

These are the doors' thermal insulation values:

  • Section 42 mm U = 0.50 W/m2K
  • Door leaf 42 mm thick U = 0.90 W/m2K
  • Fitted door 42 mm (10 m2 face) U = 1.30 W/m2K

The bottom door section has a weather seal as standard.

There's an easy way not to be fooled by unscrupulous sales people who say their roller doors are insulated: simply ask them what the thermal value is!

The Garador Autodor insulated sectional door is priced to be VERY competitive, why not give us a call, what have you got to lose?
