Read the Reviews Before Choosing the Cheapest Garage Door Installers

one star reviewer

The adage ‘you get what you pay for’ could not be truer than when spoken about the cheapest garage door installations.

Our recent blogpost explained how suppliers of cheap garage doors turn a profit by skimping on parts and not supplying follow up services.

In the race to the bottom, there’s one name that crops up time and again from disappointed customers. Let’s just call them G*****a. Here are some excerpts from recent testimonials about their service that have been left online.

The first reviewer straight up feels like they’ve been conned:

“Don’t use G*****a.

As usual with con artists it’s all fine until they’ve got your money but the 2 year warranty they offer is worthless. Very poor quality door, you’ve even got to hold the close button on the remove whilst the door closes because they don’t fit any safety on the mechanism. A year after installation the door jammed and needs new parts. I’ve phoned them 20 or so times and each time all they say is they’ll contact the fitter who never responds. Save yourself the aggro and spend a couple of hundred quid extra on a decent door.”

A common experience seems to be salespeople who are rude, or who don’t show up to appointments:

“Arranged for a surveyor to come out to measure me for garage door we’d agreed price, I cancelled a hospital appointment and finished work early to make appointment, no one came no one phoned that was a few days ago. I’ve just been looking through their reviews and I think I’ve had a lucky escape. Lesson learned I stick with my local garage door fitter.”

Installations are left incomplete:

“Had door fitted five months ago and installation still not complete. Have no trim and electrics left hanging from the door.”

And the follow up services seem to be non-existent even with the promised 2 year warranty

“After 15 months the door slats were blown in by storm Eunice. Was informed it was not covered by the guarantee. It cost £300 to repair. Was told to claim on my home insurance & pay the excess.”

At Automated Garage Doors, we have chosen not to compete at the cheapest end of the garage door market. We supply doors with high quality components, and offer a full follow up service if you have any issues. You can read our reviews online on Google and TrustPilot.
