With so many types of system available we have put together the following jargon buster to help you decide which system is most suitable to your needs.
Radio remote: A hand held transmitter that allows you to operate your entrance gate from inside your car. Multi button transmitters can also be used to operate other equipment such as your garage door or lighting.
Photocells: An invisible infra-red beam that operates between your gate posts. The gates will not close whilst the beam remains broken.
Vehicle induction loop: A coil of wire that is fitted under your driveway, detecting when a vehicle drives over it and opens the gate.
Push button switch: The simplest system of all. This system can be mounted anywhere suitable.
24 hour timer: The opening and closing of your gates is controlled using a time clock, allowing you to set what times you want to allow people in or keep them out.
Key pads: A digital keypad at the entrance to your property that will let in only those with the chosen code.
Intercoms: Choose from an audio only system that allows you to speak to the person requesting entry, or an audio/video system which, thanks to a TV monitor by your telephone, allows you to see who is there.
Locks: Choose from a selection of mechanical and electronic locks that can be installed to maximise the security of your gate.
