What do we want? Wider garage doors!

When you drive your car into the garage, does it often feel a little close for comfort? Perhaps you have clipped a wing mirror or scratched the paintwork? You are not alone. A survey by The Door and Hardware Federation has found that the garages in 75% of new homes are too small for modern vehicles. The DHF, who represent manufacturers and installers of garage doors, are continuing their campaign for the width of new garage doors to be increased. The standard width has remained at 7ft for over 40 years, despite an increase in the width of cars on the road. The DHF would therefore like to see the width increased to 7ft 6 inches.
